ElectriCars VET Hub is an Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership (KA220-VET) coordinated by Xarxa FP to help vocational education and training (VET) systems adapt to the rapid transition towards electric and sustainable mobility.
The project brought together VET providers and mobility stakeholders from across Europe to strengthen cooperation, exchange expertise, and develop innovative training solutions aligned with the evolving needs of the automotive sector.
Objectives
General objective
The aim of the ElectriCars VET Hub project is to build a EU-based cooperation partnership to exchange good practices regarding new innovative teaching methodologies for EVs mechanics to adapt to the rapid evolution of the sector, and to develop a pilot-testing course module for VET staff to offer students the adequate training and skills.
Specific objectives
- Strength collaboration between the education and EV sector to respond to the required skills set
- Adapt/modify VET curricula according to the future trends, professional profiles and skills demanded by EV companies
- Generate new VET offer for reskilling and upskilling aimed at VET staff within the EV sector
- Raise awareness and attractiveness of VET mechanic/automotive studies and EV-related professions as strategic career for youngsters.

Main Actions
- Established a European cooperation hub connecting VET institutions and industry partners to identify emerging skills needs and share innovative teaching approaches.
- Designed, developed and piloted a training module for VET teachers, “Safety and Maintenance of Electric Vehicles”, covering electric mobility fundamentals, electric propulsion systems, safety procedures, and practical teaching methodologies.
- Organised international meetings, mobility activities and peer-learning sessions to exchange best practices in electric vehicle education.
- Analysed the skills requirements of the electric mobility sector in collaboration with industry representatives to support the modernisation of VET curricula.
Key Results
- A validated pilot training course for VET teachers, tested in real learning environments and refined through participants’ feedback.
- A set of open educational resources, including teaching materials, methodological guides and good practice documentation, designed to facilitate transferability and adoption by other VET institutions across Europe.
- A collection of innovative teaching methodologies, such as project-based learning, simulation-based training, digital learning resources, competence-based approaches and the integration of sustainability into technical education.
- Identification of key competences required by the electric vehicle industry, including high-voltage systems, advanced electronic diagnostics, battery management systems and EV-specific safety procedures.
- Strengthened European cooperation between education providers and industry, contributing to the modernisation of VET programmes and supporting the green and digital transition of the automotive sector.
Through its outcomes, ElectriCars VET Hub has reinforced the capacity of European VET systems to prepare teachers and learners for the future of electric mobility while promoting innovation, collaboration and high-quality vocational education across Europe.
