On Thursday, May 15, the Parc Tecnològic Urbà de Rodes in Alcoi hosted the Vocational Skills Fair under the slogan “L’Alcoià – El Comtat, a World of Opportunities.” The event ran from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM and featured practical demonstrations from 19 vocational education and training (VET) families, aiming to showcase the wide range of opportunities offered by vocational training.

This year, the fair adopted a regional focus, involving institutions and organizations from Alcoi and the surrounding areas. A total of 15 educational centers offering vocational programs participated, alongside 9 organizations and companies providing Professional Certificates. Also in attendance were representatives from Labora, the Directorate General for Vocational Training, and the Official School of Languages.

It marked the first time the event was held at the Parc Tecnològic Urbà de Rodes and featured a broader range of participants, including companies and training entities beyond traditional educational institutions. The fair welcomed approximately 1,000 attendees, including visitors, organizers, and exhibitors.

In a nearby room, the Chamber of Commerce hosted the first edition of the  first“FP Pyme Fira” a parallel event that included a series of talks and a roundtable discussion focused on Dual Vocational Training. The day concluded with a networking session between local businesses and training centers.

The initiative, driven by the Vocational Training Council of Alcoi under the city’s Economic and Social Council, reinforces the commitment of the Alcoy City Council and the Chamber of Commerce to provide education that is closely aligned with the region’s economic fabric and real-world workforce needs.
