Between March and May 2025, four groups of Basic VET students from Alcoi, Barcelona and Madrid, had the incredible opportunity to take part in 10-day international mobility programs in several European cities: Toulouse and Dijon (France), Munich (Germany), and Vejle (Denmark). These exchanges, organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, offered a transformative experience on both an academic and personal level.

Throughout their stay, students were immersed in new cultures and lifestyles while developing essential skills such as autonomy, responsibility, and cooperation in a intercultural environment. For many, it was their first time living away from home—an experience that helped them grow personally and manage daily responsibilities with greater independence.

Living and working with peers from different backgrounds fostered strong values of inclusion, respect, and tolerance. The students shared accommodations, took part in group activities, and collaborated on small projects, which allowed them to build meaningful connections and broaden their worldview.

Visits to local training centers and companies added great value to the experience, providing insight into different work cultures, professions, and educational approaches.

Teachers accompanying the students reported very positive outcomes, highlighting the personal and academic growth they observed: “We saw them gain confidence, become more engaged, and show a genuinely open and participative attitude throughout the mobility.”

Without a doubt, these short-term mobilities were far more than a trip abroad—they became a powerful learning experience that will have a lasting impact on these young people’s lives.
