ElectriCars VET Hub: bringing 3 years of European innovation to a close

On 30 September 2026, the European ElectriCars VET Hub project will come to an end after three years of collaboration, innovation and knowledge exchange. Coordinated by Xarxa FP and funded through the Erasmus+ programme, the project has worked to help vocational education and training (VET) respond to the green and digital transformation of the automotive sector.

Throughout the project, together with European partners from REDU (Rovaniemi), Tartu Vocational College (Tartu), Fondazione Lepido Rocco (Treviso), Liceul Energetic Constanta (Constanta) and Fundació BCN Formació Professional (Barcelona) we have worked together to identify emerging skills and training needs related to electric mobility, explore new developments in the sector and develop training resources for VET teachers.

A particular focus has been placed on the new regulatory framework and safety measures related to electric and hybrid vehicles, as well as on the knowledge and competences that VET teachers need to address these changes in their training provision.

One of the key results of the project is the ElectriCars VET Hub pilot course, which is now available online and accessible to VET teachers and professionals.

The course has been developed and tested through European cooperation and includes five main modules covering key aspects of electric mobility.

The course and accompanying online materials are particularly relevant for teachers and trainers working in VET programmes related to Transport and Vehicles, Electricity and Electronics, and Mechanical Manufacturing.

The pilot course builds on the project’s research, mapping and testing activities and provides VET professionals with practical resources to support the integration of electric mobility-related knowledge and skills into their teaching.

As the project comes to an end, its resources remain available to the VET providers and staff in preparing for the changing skills needs of the automotive and electric mobility sectors. Please share with your VET community!
