From the 16th to the 19th of October a group of 12 VET professionals coming from 4 different Xarxa FP cities (Barcelona, Gandia, Mislata and Alcoi) visited Brussels in order to learn about the Vocational Education and Training Flemish and Walloon systems and particularly about their latest innovative practices.

Participants were very interested about the different dual learning schemes implemented in both Flanders and Wallonia. Other topics learnt and discussed included innovative teaching methodologies, business-education cooperation practices, the autonomy of VET centres and Curricula flexibility.

Several VET Centres were visited and participants had the opportunity to exchange with their local peers and students. Moreover, the study visit also included a full day to learn about EU policy making and policies in education and training. In fact, meetings were organised with the European Parliament, the European Commission and EfVET, the European Forum of Technical and Vocational Education and Training.

This study visit was part of the Global Innovation through ECVET project (InnovECVET), an Erasmus KA1 project coordinated by Xarxa FP aimed at promoting the quality, internationalisation and innovation of VET in Europe. The project had two mobility flows: the first one to Rovaniemi (Finland) in September and the second one to Brussels (Belgium) in October.
