Last 4th and 5th of December we held the kick-off meeting of the KA2 Strategic Partnership of the Port VET Hub at the headquarters of Xarxa FP in Barcelona.
During the first transnational project meeting we launched the project and counted with the active participation of a total of 13 VET experts of partner organisations such as Câmara Municipal de Lisboa (Portugal), Consorci d’Educació de Barcelona (Spain), Inspectoratul Scolar Judetean of Constanta (Rumania) and Ventspils Tehnikums (Latvia), as well as the coordinators in Xarxa FP Secretariat General.
The participants reunited for the first time within this project in a two-day’s meeting to meet the partner delegations, present the genesis and rationale of the project, objectives and structure, expected results and impact, calendar of activities, roles and responsibilities and budget allocation of each partner.
In addition, participants discussed and decided together the research methodologies that will be used to undertake the main data collection activities of the next project phases, and for that we counted with a presentation from a guest speaker from the Research and Observatory Unit from the Barcelona VET Foundation. With that, each partner will identify their country-specific situation of the port occupations, skills needs and status of VET education and relationship with the port sector, in particular regarding the preliminary sort of data by developing a benchmarking process. The resulting data will be further collected and classified and discussed over the next and 2nd meeting that will take place next May 2020 in Lisbon.
Until then, please follow the latest activities of the project at the Port VET Hub website and on Twitter under @PortVETHub
