Results of the survey to port companies presented at the 2nd Port VET Hub project meeting

The 2^nd transnational project meeting of the Port VET Hub project took place online.

Last 27^th of January, all project participants from the 5 project partner organisations of Barcelona (ES), Lisbon (PT), Ventspils (LV) and Constanta (RO) took part in the meeting to take stock of the project implementation and work towards future activities.

The meeting was the opportunity to review the work activities up to now, and present the results of the survey to port companies to assess their needs in terms of training and skills demanded. The survey has compiled answers from 160 companies, whose results will be compiled in an infography which will be published soon on the project website.

Participants from Lisboa and Constanta also shared the results of their focus groups of experts analysing the port companies’ needs versus VET port-related studies. These groups gather the main port stakeholders, including companies, education and port authorities.

The next and third phase of the project will focus on analysing the country-specific future professional profiles required in each port in order to identify the emerging occupations within the sector and the new skills demanded by port companies in each country. This will continue doing through research, interviews and working groups with the main local port-related stakeholders.

The next follow up project meeting will take place online on 3^rd of March and will discuss the logistics and working plan for the virtual student’s mobilities foreseen to take place in May 2021.
