Xarxa FP has closed the 1st semester of 2018 managing 407 mobilities for VET students and professionals around Europe.
Last year Xarxa FP arranged a total of 678 mobilities, setting a new record in the history of the network. If the network confirms this trend during the second semester of 2018 it will overcome its own annual record for the 3rd year in a row.
During the first semester the network managed 235 mobility actions for students, most of them internships (88%).
Students of Administration, Business and Management (71) are still by far the largest group that took part in mobility actions, as it was the case in 2017, followed by Hostelry, Hospitality and Tourism students (38).
A total of 25 cities participated in student mobility actions. Barcelona (29,4%), Alcoi (18,3%) and Munich (17,9%) have been the cities more active in sending students. The cities that hosted more international students have been Barcelona (15,3%), Rome (11,9%) and Berlin & Munich (11,5%).
With regards to staff mobility, Xarxa FP has managed 172 training activities for VET teachers and professionals during the 1st semester of 2018. Zwolle (37,2%), Berlin (20,3%) and Barcelona (13,4%) have been the cities more active in sending staff. The city that hosted more international professionals by far has been Berlin (57%), followed by Zwolle (9,3%) and Alcoi & Lisbon (7%).
This spectacular increase in the recent years can be partly explained by the raise of short term group mobilities (12% in students mobility and study visits for teachers), but mostly by the increment of new members achieved in the recent years. Only in the past three years the network has gone from 21 members in 2015 to 29 in 2018.
