On 16-17th of June a delegation of Xarxa FP Secretariat, headed by its Secretary General Mr Jordi Castillo, visited Hamburg (Germany) to ensure a smooth transition of this new member city into the network’s activities.

During the visit, Mr Jordi Castillo met with representatives of the Senate Chancellery of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, the Hamburg Institute and Foundation for Vocational Education and Training and the Hamburg Mobility Agency. The main aim of the conversations held was to coordinate the city’s different institutions involvement into the network’s activities and get to know the city’s VET system.

Hamburg is currently managing around 720 mobilities for its students, representing more than 7% of the total of VET students of the city. Current mobility figures for VET students in Germany are around 3,8% of the total of  the country’s students. Hamburg has a goal of moving 10% of its students by 2020.

The Secretariat also visited the Northern Business School, an innovative higher education institution with an ambitions internationalisation strategy.
